Public website
Discover NGWS, browse the concert album, check 2026 dates and follow the band.
Visit public site →How to use NGWS Online · 2026
Everything audiences, bandsmen, committee members and the Band Director need—explained in plain language.
01 · Start here
Discover NGWS, browse the concert album, check 2026 dates and follow the band.
Visit public site →Review live event and rehearsal availability, open the official attendance sheet, submit a pulse, or report a bug.
Enter portal →Sign in through the Musician Portal. The Score Library appears only after a member profile is validated.
Open member sign-in →On phones, use the menu or instrument drawer. On tablets, rotate to landscape for a wider score. On laptops, press Ctrl/⌘ K in the library to jump to search.
02 · Audience and prospective members
The homepage introduces the band and highlights the current season. The music strip is prepared for an NGWS YouTube performance; sound begins only after a tap when browser policy requires it.
Use the year chips to filter 2023–2026 posters and achievements. Tap a poster for its official event or performance source.
Read the President’s latest announcement first, then use the event table for the current signup position. The calendar is available as the secondary view for dates and venue details.
The live-feed area brings YouTube, Instagram and Facebook together. Prospective members can submit their background, instrument, experience and current commitments from the Join section for committee review.
Apply to join →03 · Musician Portal
Select your name and enter as Bandsman. This is a prototype profile selector; formal secure logins and role permissions will replace it.
Try member view →The portal shows your official PAssionArts Festival and Island Symphony responses from the live attendance sheet.
Select Update in live attendance sheet, then change your official event or rehearsal response there. The portal refreshes from that sheet automatically.
Open live attendance sheet ↗After rehearsal, rate readiness, choose the musical issue and add a useful note. The response is shared with your name and section so the committee and Music Director can follow up.
Open rehearsal pulse →04 · Members-only scores and annotation
Select 1st Alto, 2nd Alto, Tenor, Baritone, Soprano or ensemble. Then choose the concert collection or search the piece title.
Tap the score, enter Alvin’s library password, and wait for the protected PDF to load. Use pencil/ink, marker, highlighter and eraser tools in the annotation toolbar.
Tap Save notes before closing. Notes currently stay on that browser and device; use the same device to restore them next rehearsal.
The library, its index, score files and annotation route require a Musician Portal session. A website cannot reliably stop operating-system screenshots, so members must still follow the score-use policy.
Sign in through the portal →You opened a local file:// preview. Use the published HTTPS site address. This is an editor security restriction, not an incorrect score password.
05 · Committee and Band Director
Select Committee / Band Director and enter the committee password carefully. Five incorrect attempts permanently lock that browser/device and report a suspected brute-force incident to Alvin. The dashboard breaks live sheet responses down by section.
Open readiness room →The register and readiness figures mirror the official spreadsheet. Make corrections in the live attendance sheet so members, the board and committee view remain consistent.
Open live attendance sheet ↗Build the update once, preview it and use the WhatsApp-ready action. Full automatic group sending will require an approved WhatsApp Business integration.
Open broadcast centre →Export updates from the director dashboard for backup or handover. Treat member attendance and notes as committee-confidential information.
The IT Security tab uses Alvin’s separate administrator password to list suspected brute-force attempts. Only Alvin can unlock a reported browser/device.
06 · Bugs, fixes and maintenance
Take a screenshot of the full page or affected area. Do not include passwords, private chats or unrelated personal information.
In Report a bug, choose the page and urgency, explain what you tapped and attach the screenshot. Device information is included automatically.
Report a bug →Open My IT tickets to follow your report. When Alvin resolves it, review the fix: confirm that it works to close and archive the record, or return it with a note explaining what still needs attention.
During major upgrades, the NGWS maintenance cover replaces working pages. Try again after the announced maintenance window.
07 · Access and privacy
Try “attendance”, “score”, “bug” or “broadcast”.
